Google has sent out invitations for an event on October 9th, with the high likeliness of revealing new hardware. Expectations are clearly for the new flagship Pixel 3 phones, which have been previously getting lots of leaked images and specs.

The 9th is a new date, which also differs from the previous Pixel-events, which were held in 2016 and 2017 on the 4th of October. That the hardware event will be on the 9th was previously also reported by Bloomberg in August.

The launch comes on the heels of Samsung Electronics Co. introducing its larger Note 9 smartphone. Alphabet Inc.’s Google also plans to debut new Pixel phones on Oct. 9 at a media event in New York City, other people familiar with the plans said. A Google spokeswoman declined to comment.

That the Hardware event will be about the new Pixel phones is already a very safe bet, as the invite already shows with its “I <3 NY” theme.

The smaller Pixel 3 will be according to previous leaks have a 5.5″ Inch display with no notch but a larger chin, and the Pixel 3 XL will feature a massive 6.7″ Inch display with a notch. Both phones will have wireless charging and sport stereo speakers.

Alongside the new Pixel 3 Phones, there are also expectations for a new Pixel Book, Chromecast and Google Home devices.

Google will hold the event in New York, and will also offer a live stream on the YouTube channel Made-By-Google.
